For what seems like months now every time I turn on Channel 6 there's been this quirky black and white video of a young man with a guitar. Short of phoning up the station, I've never been been able to find out who he is until tonight. He's from Bray and his name is Fionn Regan apparently and I'd never heard of him. Which shows how uncool I've become in my latter years.

Anyway, this ain't the quirky black and white video, but it's still quirky. I commend him to you.

A friend of mine had been going on about Fionn for an age and insisted I go to see him with her one evening recently..I don't really do singer songwriters anymore - Damian Dempsey put paid to that...but he's brilliant.

BTW are you on holiday?...When can I expect normal service to resume?

Great video - he must have been exhausted trekking all over the place with his guitar.

Hello Me
Yes I've been out of the country on urgent affairs of state but normal service will be resumed in the morning hopefully. Clearly Where Angels Fear is becoming cutting edge. Did you see the Irish Times mag this weekend? Better to be 5 days ahead than 5 minutes behind I suppose:-)

Conortje: Sure it's only a small guitar. He probably got Ryan Adams to porter it about for him seeing they're now Lost Highway stablemates:-)

A 'small world but I wouldn't want to paint it' footnote. After spending months trying to find out who young Fionn was, I discovered the other day that I actually know his mum! I really must listen more closely when parents go off on one about their rugrats:-)

ahh that's what I miss about Ireland - knowing people's mums :-)

Stay in Holland, mate. I still have the scars from a handbag assault by an irate mammy in Grafton St for daring to criticise one of her little darling boys too vocally in public:-)
Fierce angry with me she was.
